The bridge to the lilacs house. Apartment building on Steinhofweg, Kriens 2007–2008
Wooden constructions and chalets characterize the neighbourhood around the house on Steinhofweg. Built in the 1920s, it disposes of three apartments. We renovated it and added an extension on the garden side. And a bridge! As a consequence, the interior was re-structured.
The new floor plans enable flexible living by means of wide door openings and room dividers. The new wooden construction adds an additional room to each apartment, which can be used as a dining area and kitchen or as a bedroom. Thanks to the new façade materialisation, the building blends into the characteristic image of the neighbourhood.
