Shaken and not stirred. The Tower. Hard Turm Park (BFC) residential high-rise, Zurich, Switzerland, 2007–2013
Together, they form a striking ensemble in the urban fabric, at a turbulent urban juncture:
Our robust cuboid, the Toni tower and the Migros high-rise disk.
The horizontally banded façade with the distinctive bow windows depicts the inner structure of the house on the building envelope and shows its purpose: "People live here!“
The apartment mix is many-faceted: Small and multi-room apartments, 30-meter-deep multi-storey apartments with two-storey residential halls, and – right at the top – maisonette apartments, creating a lively housing environment. Furthermore, the lower half of the building comprises a four-star hotel with 196 hotel rooms, as well as ballrooms, conference facilities and offices. The ground floor and the urban space benefit from this use.
